About
MedalMeet is a small site with twenty sports mini-games and a medal table. It is free, and it works in any modern browser.
The idea
Real sport is mostly preparation and a few decisive instants. These games keep the instants. A long jump is two taps. A javelin throw is two meters. A penalty save is one quick movement. You can play an event in the time it takes to wait for a lift.
What makes it more than a set of toys is the medals. Every event has a bronze, silver and gold standard, and the site keeps your best result in each, so there is always something specific to aim at.
How the events are made
Each event is a small program drawn on a canvas in your browser. The physics are simple and consistent: balls bounce, stones slow down, pins knock each other over. Nothing is random where skill should decide, and where there is chance, such as the wind in Goal Kick, it is shown to you before you act.
All twenty can be played with one finger. Most also work with a mouse or keyboard, and each event page lists the controls.
Free to use
There is no charge and no sign-up. The site may show adverts, kept outside the playing area, and you can choose non-personalised adverts. Details are on the privacy page.
Your results are yours
Bests and medals are stored in your browser. We do not collect them, and we do not ask for your name or email address.
Contact
If an event misbehaves, or a medal target seems impossible or far too easy, tell us at hello@example.com. We adjust the standards when players show us they are wrong. See the contact page.
