Putting Green

Six holes of crazy golf. Pull back, let go and sink the ball in as few strokes as you can.

About the Putting Green

Putting Green is six holes of miniature golf, with wooden barriers to get round and a ball that will roll straight over the hole if you hit it too hard.

How it works

You can start a putt from anywhere on the screen. Press, drag and let go. The ball is hit in the opposite direction to your drag, as if you had pulled back a catapult, and the length of the drag sets the power. While you drag, a yellow line from the ball shows the direction and strength.

The ball slows steadily and bounces off the edges of the green and off the wooden barriers, losing a little speed each time.

It drops into the hole only if it reaches it at a sensible pace. A ball travelling too fast skips across the top.

You can putt again as soon as the ball stops. Each hole allows a maximum of eight strokes, after which you are moved on. The first hole is a straight putt. The other five have barriers that get in the way.

Going round in fewer

Use the walls. On most holes, the way to the flag is a bounce off the side of the green. The ball comes off a wall at the same angle it arrived, so pick a point on the wall halfway along and aim there.

Get the pace right. A putt that would stop a little way past the hole is ideal. Too soft and it never arrives. Too hard and it will not drop.

Think in two putts. On the awkward holes, play the first to a spot with a clear view of the flag, and hole the second.

Short drags for short putts. Close to the hole, a tiny pull is enough.

Fourteen strokes or fewer wins gold.
